August 18, 2010 Went to see The Expendables last Sunday and Oh Boy was it worth it!!! It opens with one hell of a gun fight where we see Dolph Lundgreen blasting the bejeesus out of some guy so awesomely you can’t wipe the maniac grin of your face for several minutes.   The movie brings together great names, direct by Sylvester Stallone that really do give the movie one resounding cast crew that gets you quivering just reading the their names.   Basic plot line is a group of mercenaries that scout a possible job for “Mr. Church” (Bruce Willis) on a dictatorship run isle and on their reconnaissance job they meet a girl that through her show of courage gets Barney Ross (Sylvester Stallone) to return in an attempt to save his soul and with him the rest of the gang for some massive explosions and trigger happy fun, and ultimately resolve the conflict.   I won’t say more than that as not to spoil too much, but over all a movie to make any one who likes big ba...

 October 7, 2009 Wintery fall days have finally arrived, as a sneak preview of what the future holds come the 31st of October. Last night it rained for the first time; the sky went grey and the wind picked up singing as it danced in between the leaves and trees, creating a cacophony of whimpering sounds to the tempo of a soft toc-toc-toc as the fat shiny drops of rain flatten themselves onto the cement floor of my backyard. It made me smile, as I open the door and was met with this small wonder of weather where before was nothing but sun and still somewhat suffocating heat. September 23, 2009 A couple of days ago, in another site I was faced with a woman speaking about her abusive husband, a man that hit her and threatened her, and made her feel like crap. She admitted he was wrong and she shouldn’t be treated like that, but went on to add “but he is a good guy most of the time, and besides I owe it to my son to be raised in a 2 parent normal household". NO! In this day and age, there is no “normal” household and even if there was, an abusive one wouldn’t be it for sure! Children may not know what is going on, because you’re a good actress, or may not understand it, because they don’t know any better, but they know something is off, and worst you are their everything, and what you do is to them gospel at a basic instinctive level, and as such they will emulate your every move. September 14, 2009 Today I remembered why I had only painted my nails twice in the last year, when it has always been something I enjoy doing… For the simple reason, that I hate dramarama. I hate it with a vengeance known only by those who dared rise against Sparta only to be crushed at the Gates of Thermopylae. Perhaps it has to do with always being in the middle, or in the periphery, of some or other useless argument in my home. My father is the specialist of drama and pulls everyone along. In this case though, I understand his point of view and his reasons to an extent; nail polishes do have a very active smell and he has sensitive lungs due to having had asthma. I say had because it seems to be more a case of hypochondria than something else, as he totally forgets he needs the pump while something that interests him is happening, but as soon as it is relevant to someone else he gets all upset and wheezy.  September 9, 2009 In this day and age it seems like the World of Writing is slowly being driven backwards into a cliff that has no railings. I’m part of an art site, and I see most people make a bee line for all the brilliantly colored pictures and shiny imagery, completely by-passing anything with words in it. Often the only exception is the fanfic, which despite the lowering of the number of people interested in the written story manage to stay afloat by giving the reader a familiar character and setting in a plot that strokes our overly eager brain’s necessity for acting out complexes that would make Freud turn in his grave. Don’t get me wrong, I love a good fanfic as much as the next fangirl, the lemonier the better, and complexes I do have many, from the savior one, where the main female character saves the main male characters soul through love to the saint one where the selfless main character gives everything of her to save those around her, including her ...
